A NEW Voice to School Board

Chong chose Pleasanton to raise his family because it is one of the safest cities in the country, with a small town charm and more importantly, excellent schools.

In pursuing an enriching life with different cultures and freedom, Chong came to the States after earning a BS of Mechanical Engineering from Xi’an Jiaotong University in China. Shortly after, he earned an MS of Computer Science from Stanford University and ever since, has been working in the high-tech sector.

In his 20+ years of professional life, Chong served at various positions, each providing eye-opening experience for him. His own two children’s schooling experience opened up other perspectives in life, and that is a very important part of his life. Since the boys started school, Chong has been an active member of the community. This is especially true after his family moved to Pleasanton.

Chong has been regularly volunteering at school events, attending school board meetings, speaking up when there are issues, landing hands when people are in need. He is currently a member of the district’s Superintendent Budget Advisory council and Citizen Bond Oversight Committee. Through those experiences, Chong gained thorough understanding on school operations, learned about school budgeting, witnessed & listented what the communities were expecting for our students. All of these moments now lead Chong to make the decision to run for School Board in 2020.

Chong would like to further his commitments to serve the community, to represent Pleasanton parents, students and community members in education. He will listen to your concerns, and will be your voices at the School Board to make sure your voices are heard and concerns are addressed. Chong is determined to help make PUSD better, to establish a learning environment for all students to support them of their interests.
